Judge Željka Krmek was born in Sarajevo in 1960. She completed primary and secondary school in Sarajevo where she also graduated from the Law School in 1985. She completed an internship at the Basic Court I in Sarajevo. Following the internship she passed the bar exam in 1987. From 1989 she worked as an associate at the Municipal Court I in Sarajevo and in 1993 she was appointed judge of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo. The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council appointed her judge of the Court of BiH in October 2007.
