Halil Lagumdžija was born in 1960 in Rudo. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo in 1985. His first employment was with the Poliester Company in Priboj, Serbia in 1986 as a lawyer. From March 1994 to mid October 1995 he was the Vice-president and President of the Executive Board of the Goražde County. On 17^th October 1995, he was appointed to the position of a judge at the District Military Court of Goražde, which he held until the establishment of the Cantonal Court of Goražde on 4^th September 1996, where he moved to work as a judge until 30^th June 2010. From October 2001 to June 2003 he was the President of that Court. He was appointed a judge of the Court of BiH on 27^th May 2010, and he assumed his duty on 1^st July 2010.
