Mr. Abubacarr M. Tambadou, Registrar of the UN International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, together with a delegation, visited the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. IRMCT representatives met with the President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ranko Debevec, Head of the Criminal Division Judge Minka Kreho, Judge Davorin Jukić and Deputy Head of the Legal Department Elma Čorbadžić.

During the meeting they discussed the challenges the Court has been facing in prosecuting war crimes cases, stressing their further commitment to the application of international standards. Also discussed was the exceptional cooperation between the IRMCT and the Court of BiH over the past years, with a particular stress on the importance of applying the highest professional standards, all with the aim of promoting the rule of law.

Mr. Tambadou thanked his hosts for the reception and noted the IRMCT's lasting commitment to providing continued assistance to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
