The factual substrate of the indictment:
The Indictment alleges that during the war and armed conflict between members of the armed force of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the VRS (Army of the Republika Srpska) in the period from April to August 1992, in the quarter of Alipašino Polje, Municipality of Novi Grad, Sarajevo, as members of the Territorial Defense (TO) Staff “Stela“ and Special Units of the Army of the RBiH, together with their superiors Jusuf Prazina and Samir Kahvedžić, the accused knowingly and willingly participated in a joint criminal enterprise whose common purpose was unlawful detention of Serb civilians who were unlawfully deprived of liberty in the territory of the city of Sarajevo and subjected to killings, rapes, torture, inhuman treatment, forced labor, and different kinds of physical or mental abuse.

(S1 1 K 021351 17 KrI), on 5 July 2018 the Court issued a Ruling to separate the case against the accused Senad Džananović and Edin Gadžo, so that the proceedings under the BiH Prosecutor’s Office Indictment in relation to the accused Jasmin Erović will be conducted and completed separately under No. S 1 1 K 028802 18 Kri. In relation to the accused Senad Džananović and Edin Gadžo, the proceedings will continue under the current No. S1 1 K 021351 17 KrI.

On 16 January 2017, in the case of Senad Džananović et al. the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the indictment charging Senad Džananović, Edin Gadžo and Jasmin Erović with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians in conjunction with Article 173(1) of the CC BiH.
At the plea hearing held on 24 February 2017, the accused Senad Džananović, Edin Gadžo and Jasmin Erović pled not guilty.
The main trial was initiated on 12 July 2017. The presentation of closing arguments has been completed.

On 11 June 2021, a Trial Judgment was delivered sentencing the accused Senad Džananović to 11 (eleven) years of imprisonment, and the accused Edin Gadžo to 5 (five) years of imprisonment

On 9 March 2022 the Appellate Division Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered a Judgment in the case of Senad Džananović et al., dismissing as ill-founded the appeals filed by the BiH Prosecutor's Office and defense counsel for the accused Senad Džananović and Edin Gadžo, while upholding the Trial Judgment No. S1 1 K 021351 17 Kri dated 11 June 2021.
