According to the Indictment, in the period between 29 May 2020 and 13 September 2020, the accused Senad Samardžić, in his capacity as senior inspector of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, using his social influence and position with a friendly connection, demanded and received on 19 September 2020 a sum of 500.00 BAM for a mediation in the repossession of a seized vehicle, thereby acquiring gain in the said amount.

The Court confirmed Indictment in Case No. S1 2 K 036719 20 Ko on 4 January 2021, charging the accused Senad Samardžić with the criminal offense of Receiving Reward or Other Forms of Benefit for Trading in Influence under Article 219 paragraph 3 as read with paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
An arraignment was held 10 September 2021, at which the accused Senad Samardžić entered a plea of not guilty.
Having held a hearing to entertain a Plea Agreement and a sentencing hearing in the case of Senad Samardžić (S1 2 K 036719 21 K) on 23 June 2022, the Court of BiH rendered and announced in open session a Judgment finding the accused Senad Samardžić guilty of the criminal offense of Receiving Reward or Other Forms of Benefit for Trading in Influence under Article 219 paragraph 3 as read with paragraph 2 of the CC BiH and sentencing the Accused to eight (8) months' imprisonment.
