According to the Indictment, during a widespread and systematic attack directed against the non-Serb civilian population of Višegrad municipality, the accused, with knowledge of that attack and that their acts constituted part thereof, knowingly participated in the persecution of Muslim and Croatian civilians of Višegrad municipality on political, national, ethnic and religious grounds. It is further alleged that the accused, by way of imprisonment and other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law, participated in the intentional infliction of severe physical or mental pain or suffering, coercing another to sexual intercourse or an equivalent sexual act and other inhumane acts of a similar character committed with the intent to cause great suffering or serious injury to body or to physical or mental health.
