Branko Morait was born in 1950 in Banja Luka. He graduated from the “Law School“ in Sarajevo and found his first employment in a business enterprise. Following the establishment of the “Law School“ in Banja Luka, he commenced his university career. He was awarded his master\'s degree in 1980 and after defending his doctoral thesis in 1985, in the field of civil law, he was awarded his doctor\'s degree and was subsequently promoted to a juris doctor. Currently he works as a professor at the University in Banja Luka and teaches obligation and family law. He has authored ten books, more than 100 scientific and expert works and is a member of the Committee on Legal Sciences of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of BiH. Mr. Morait is one of the seven judges who were initially appointed to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he assumed duty as judge of the Appellate Division until 8^th March 2005 and was reappointed as judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 1^st March 2006. He is married and has two children.

By Decision of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, on 1 November 2020 he was appointed additional judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
