COURT OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA JUDGE AND REGISTRAR TAKE PART AT 8TH ANNUAL REGIONAL FORUM

Judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Hasija Mašović, and the Registrar for the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Emira Hodžić, took part at the Eighth Regional Rule of Law Forum for South-East Europe, held on 3 and 4 September 2021 in the organization of the AIRE Centre and the Civil Rights Defenders. The topic of this year’s Forum was “judicial independence and impartiality.”

The forum included a central conference in Dubrovnik at which President of the European Court of Human Rights, the current and former judges of that Court, the former director and secretary of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe took part. Representatives of the entire region, including presidents and judges of supreme and constitutional courts, ombudspersons, agents of States before the Court in Strasbourg, representatives of judicial centers/academies and non-governmental organizations and prominent legal experts from the region have gathered in respective national work centers in Belgrade, Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Tirana and Zagreb. The forum was an interactive gathering and the participants from the region were given an opportunity to join the discussions via video streaming.

 

By its participation, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed support to achieving the Forum’s objective aimed at promoting the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights at the local level, at encouraging regional cooperation in a continued development of the rule of law and respect for human rights, and at providing assistance in the process of European integrations to countries in the region.
