The Ukrainian Women’s Fund (Kyiv/Ukraine) and representatives of the CURE Foundation visited the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 29 September 2023. The guests come from the non-governmental and governmental sector of Ukraine, which means from the state institutions whose aim is to develop a system of providing support to victims of war-time sex crimes, especially in the part related to providing legal, psychological, sociological and medical support.

The Fund members were particularly interested in discussion with representatives of the Legal Department, Witness Support Section and Public Information and Outreach Section of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the matters concerning the establishment of the Court of BiH, its jurisdiction and mode of operation, the prosecution of war crimes, organized crime and corruption cases, and legal solutions and modalities in which Bosnia and Herzegovina has tackled the matter of war crimes prosecution.

They were also interested in the operation of the Witness Support Section and the method of operation of judges and trial panels, and the support which the judicial staff provides to trial panels.

They thanked the hosts for the opportunity to pay this visit, which was of an interactive type, and voiced hope that all that they learned from the Court of BiH personnel during the visit would be of use to them in their future efforts to exercise those rights in their country.
