A main trial in the Bektašević and others case commenced

A trial panel of Section II for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on today's hearing opened the main trial in the Bektašević and others case. On this hearing first witness for the Prosecution testified. The trial panel has also, in the closed session, discussed on the plea agreement between the accused Amir Bajrić and Prosecutor's Office of BiH. Continuation of the main trial is scheduled for tomorrow, July 21 2006 in the Courtroom 4 starting at 8.30 a.m.

The indictment filed by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges the accused with the following criminal offenses:

  • Bektašević Mirsad and Cesur Abdulkadir with the offense of terrorism pursuant to Article 201 paragraph 1 in conjuction with paragrapf  4 item (f) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH) and offense of attempted obstructing an official person in execution of official activity pursuant to Article 358 paragraph 1 of Criminal Code of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC FBiH)
  • Ikanović Bajro with the offense of terrorism pursuant to Article 201 paragraph 1 in conjuction with paragrapf  4 item (f) of CC BiH.

The remaining two accused, Bajrić Amir and Hasanović Senad, are charged with the criminal offense of illicit possession of weapons or explosive substances pursuant to Article 371 paragraph 2 of CC FBiH.
