On 5 October 2010 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) confirmed the Indictment in the Eso Macić case charging the Accused Macić with the criminal offences of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173 (1) c) of the CC BiH and War Crimes against Prisoners of War under Article 175 a) in conjunction with Articles 29 and 180 (1) of the CC BiH.
The Indictment alleges, among other things, that the Accused Macić, as a member of the Army of BiH, in mid-June 1992, together with unidentified guards of the “Čelebići” detention camp, ruthlessly beat up an elderly Serb civilian who eventually died due to the inflicted injuries. As further alleged in the Indictment, in the first half of the month of June 1992 the Accused Macić shot dead one Serb civilian in the aforementioned camp. The Indictment also alleges that in March or April 1993, the Accused Macić inhumanely treated the detained Serb civilians and prisoners of war in the sports hall „Musala“ in Konjic, inflicting upon them severe bodily injuries as well as physical and mental pain.
