On 20 January 2015 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the indictment charging the accused Goran Mrđa, Milorad Mrđa, Ranko Mrđa and Mile Kokot with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 173 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment, inter alia, alleges that during the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina between the Army of Republika Srpska and the Army of RBiH, between 1992 and late 1994, in the broader territory of Sanski Most, as members of the VI Sana Infantry Brigade of the Army of Republika Srpska, the accused acted in violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, specifically Article 3 of the Geneva Convention, by committing murders of civilians, by inflicting strong physical and mental pain on civilians, by forcing another person to sexual intercourse – rape with the use of force and threat, by subjecting civilians to inhumane treatment and by pillaging their homes
