Judgment delivered in Mile Lukić case

On 2 June 2022 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina pronounced a judgment in the case of Mile Lukić, finding the accused Mile Lukić guilty of the criminal offense of Receiving Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit under Article 217(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH).

The Court sentenced the accused to 5 months of imprisonment. Pursuant to Articles 110, 111 and 217(4) of the CC BiH, the ill-gotten gain shall be confiscated from the accused – money in the amount of 50 EUR, which the accused shall pay towards the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina within 30 days of the day when the judgment becomes final.

 

The accused Mile Lukić is guilty that on 16 June 2021, at the international border crossing of Brod, exercising control at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina from Croatia, in his capacity as an official person in the institutions of BiH, as a police officer of the BiH Border Police, he demanded and received a gift in the amount of 50 EUR in order to do within his office something he should not be doing.
