The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will announce tomorrow, 30 September 2021, the first instance judgment in the case of Cvijan Tomanić. The announcement is scheduled to take place at 09:00 hrs in Courtroom 6.

The Indictment charges the accused Cvijan Tomanić that he committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1) h), in connection with Subparagraphs a), e) and k) and Article 180(1) as read with Article 29 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment alleges, among other things, that during the period between April 1992 and at least the end of 1992, in the Municipality of Zvornik, within a widespread and systematic attack of the Army of Republika Srpska, directed against the non-Serb civilian population in the territory of the Zvornik Municipality, as a member of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), VP7469 Zvornik Brigade, being aware of such an attack, and knowing that his acts formed a part of the attack, the accused Cvijan Tomanić took part in persecution of the Bosniak civilian population on national and ethnic grounds in connection with murder, grave deprivation of liberty and other inhuman acts of similar nature committed with the intent of inflicting great suffering or serious physical or mental injury or health damage.
