Judgment pronounced in Milan Škoro et al.

Having held a public trial in the case of Milan Škoro et al., on 27 October 2023 the Court delivered and pronounced a Trial Judgment finding the accused Milan Škoro and Ivo Filipović guilty as charged.

The Court sentenced the accused to six (6) months of imprisonment each.

 

The ill-gotten gain in the amount of 100.00 EUR shall be confiscated from the accused, in its BAM countervalue, which the accused shall pay towards the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina in equal parts of 50.00 EUR each, within 30 days of the day when the Judgment becomes final.         

 

The accused are charged that in their capacity of official persons in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as police officers of the BiH border police, with the aim of obtaining ill-gotten gain for themselves, while carrying out border control of passengers exiting Bosnia and Herzegovina, they requested and accepted a gift from a passenger who did not possess a valid visa for entering, staying or crossing the territory of BiH so he could be allowed to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina without conducting minor offense procedure, meaning they failed to issue a citation against him and instead allowed him to exit Bosnia and Herzegovina without conducting minor offense proceedings, whereby they committed the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit under Article 217(1) of the Criminal Code of BiH, as read with Article 29 of the Code.
