Judgment pronounced in Edin Podgora case

Having held a guilty plea agreement consideration hearing and a sentencing hearing  in the case of Edin Podgora (S1 2 K 047975 24 K), on 5 November 2024 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered and pronounced a Trial Judgment, finding the accused Edin Podgora guilty of the criminal offense of Terrorism under Article 201(1) as read with Paragraph 5(i), and Subparagraphs a) and b) of the CC BiH.

The Court sentenced him to 1 (one) year and 6 (six) months of imprisonment.

 

Pursuant to Article 56 CC BiH, the time the accused Edin Podgora spent in pre-trial custody shall be credited towards his sentence of imprisonment.

 

In the same case, the Court issued a Decision to remand the accused in continued custody, which under the Decision may last until the accused is committed to serve his sentence of imprisonment or until the Court issues a new decision, on the grounds set forth in Article 132(1), Subparagraphs c) and d), CPC BiH.

 

According to the Indictment, on 18 April 2024, with the aim to cause serious intimidation of the population and serious destabilization of the basic constitutional and social structures in BiH, through a social network he aired a minutes-long video-recording in which he posed with firearms and cold weapons and committed a terrorist act by threatening to attack human life, which may cause their death.
