Having held a guilty plea agreement consideration hearing and a sentencing hearing in the case of Puniša Purković (S1 2 K 045483 23 K), on 8 June 2023 the Court delivered and pronounced a judgment finding the accused Puniša Purković guilty that by the acts described in the operative part of the Judgment he committed the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250(2) CC BiH as read with the criminal offense of Extortion under Article 295(1) CC FBiH, in conjunction with Article 55 CC FBiH, and the criminal offense of Money Laundering under Article 209(1) CC BiH as read with Article 54 CC BiH. The Court sentenced the accused to two (2) years and two (2) months of imprisonment, with the time he spent in pre-trial custody being credited towards his sentence of imprisonment. The Court also fined the accused with 32,000.00 BAM, which the accused must pay towards the BiH budget within one (1) year.

The ill-gotten gain in the amount of 12,000.00 BAM shall be confiscated from the accused by way of his paying the amount towards the BiH budget within three (3) months.

The accused Puniša Purković is, inter alia, found guilty that, having become a member of a group for organized crime that, for the purpose of continued  accumulation of material gain, was organized for planning and carrying out the stealing of expensive passenger motor vehicles or those whose demand at the market has been on the rise, extortion of money for the return of those vehicles to their rightful owners, dismantling of the stolen cars for the purpose of their re-sale as spare parts, all with the purpose of concealing the criminal offense, perpetrators, the origin of objects and their rightful owners, and smuggling and selling of the stolen cars in Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro, after other members of the group repeatedly stole passenger motor vehicles, with the aim of obtaining ill-gotten gain for himself and others, the accused Puniša Purković repeatedly extorted money from the owners of stolen cars in exchange for their return.
