Having held a guilty plea agreement consideration hearing and a sentencing hearing, on 2 July 2026 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered and pronounced a Trial Judgment finding Vahid Hujić guilty that by the acts described in the operative part of the Judgment he committed the criminal offense of Giving Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit under Article 218(1) CC BiH.
The Court imposed on the accused a suspended sentence of 6 (six) months of imprisonment, while stipulating that the sentence shall not be executed unless the accused commits another criminal offense within 1 year of the day when the Judgment becomes final.
The Court also fined the accused with 500.00 BAM, which the accused is obligated to pay within 30 days of the day when the Judgment becomes final.
The accused is charged with having knowingly and intentionally made a gift in the form of money, i.e. offered a gift in the amount of 20.00 Euros to a customs officer of the Indirect Taxation Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an official in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to have him not perform an official duty he is under an obligation to perform, on 9 January 2026 at around 10:15 p.m., at the International Border Crossing Brod, Customs Office/Customs Department of Brod, of the Indirect Taxation Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITA BiH), during a customs control by an authorized official at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina from the direction of Croatia, driving a motor vehicle in which he was transporting goods with an estimated value of 4,457.41 BAM, which goods are subject to the procedure of customs control and supervision, declaration, calculation and payment.
