The Accused Sreto Pajić Ordered into Custody

Having held a hearing to deliberate on custody of the accused Sreto Pajić following his extradition to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued, on 13 May 2022, a decision repealing the Decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina of 2 November 2021 ordering the accused Sreto Pajić into custody. The referenced Decision remains unaltered in its remaining part (related to the accused Davor Ninković).

The accused Sreto Pajić was ordered into custody under the Court’s Decision of 13 May 2022 on the grounds set forth in Article 132(1) a) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC BiH), namely due to a risk of flight. Pursuant to the referenced decisions, custody can last no longer than 2 years running from the arrest day, namely until 12 May 2024 or the Court’s new decision.

 

In addition, on 13 May 2022, the Court issued an order requesting that the international wanted notice of the Court of BiH of 20 January 2022 against the accused Sreto Pajić be withdrawn, as well as on order withdrawing and repealing the Court’s order for the issuance of a central warrant notice of 20 January 2022 against the accused.

 

Sreto Pajić has been charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH), in connection with the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 214 of the CC BiH, the criminal offenses of Aggravated Theft under Article 287 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC FBiH), Extortion under Article 295 of the CC FBiH as read with Article 53 of the CC BiH, etc.
