Suspect Dalibor Railić ordered into pre-trial custody

Having deliberated on a motion by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina /BiH/ seeking pre-trial custody of the suspect Dalibor Railić (case of Veljko Ugrenović et al.), the Court of BiH issued a Decision on 24 March 2022 ordering the suspect into pre-trial custody. Under this decision, pre-trial custody may last for a period not exceeding one month, running from the date of arrest, i.e. until 23 April 2022 or a new decision of the Court. Pre-trial custody has been ordered on the grounds of Article 132(1)(a), (b) and (c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, namely a risk of flight, a fear that the suspect would destroy, conceal, alter or falsify evidence and clues relevant to criminal proceedings, influence witnesses, accessories or accomplices, and a fear that he would repeat or complete the attempted crime.

Dalibor Railić is suspected of committing the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250(2) of the Criminal Code /CC/ of BiH as read with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195(1) of the CC BiH, the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Products of Dual Use under Article 193(1) of the CC BiH, the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189 of the CC BiH and the criminal offense of Aggravated Theft under Article 226(2) of the Criminal Code of the Republika Srpska.
