On 5 January 2022 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment issued by the BiH Prosecutor's Office on 22 December 2021, charging the accused Novica Tripković with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1)g), as read with Article 53 and Article 180(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the Indictment, between 2 August 1992 and 9 August 1992, in the territory of Foča municipality, during a widespread and systematic attack launched by military, paramilitary and police forces of the so-called Serb Republic of BiH, subsequently Republika Srpska, which lasted at least from April 1992 to October 1994, and was aimed against the Bosniak civilian population of the Foča municipality, the accused Novica Tripković forced two persons to sexual intercourse, in the manner described in detail in the Indictment.
