The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed, on 18 July 2022, an indictment in the case of Petar Mitrović charging the accused Petar Mitrović with commission of the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit under Article 217(2. Of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment alleges that while performing the tasks and duties of an authorized official person, police officer at the BiH Border Police controlling persons and vehicles at the Gradiška international border crossing between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, the accused Petar Mitrović received a gift for himself in order not to perform the acts he must perform within his office.
