Indictment confirmed in Zijad Kadrić et al.

On 11 October 2023 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment issued on 4 October 2023, which charges the accused Zijad Kadrić, Hajrudin Halilović, Asim Hamzić, Miralem Čengić, Samir Selimović and Amir Murtić with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 142(1) of the Criminal Code of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia.

According to the Indictment, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the armed conflict between the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the one side and the Army of Republika Srpska on the other, between May and late 1992, in the villages and settlements with the Serb majority population, on the premises of the PS Visoko, TO Gračanica Visoko, and in the detention facility–camp located in the Ahmet Fetahagić barracks in the territory of Visoko municipality, members of the Army BiH, namely Zijad Kadrić as the warden of the detention facility–camp and a member of the Municipal Staff TO Visoko of the Army of BiH, Hajrudin Halilović as a member of the OS Army of BiH General Staff, Asim Hamzić as a member of the SJB Visoko and TO Visoko Staff Command, Miralem Čengić as a member of the sabotage-reconnaissance platoon and military police Visoko, Samir Selimović as a member of the sabotage-reconnaissance platoon Visoko, and Amir Murtić as a member of the sabotage-reconnaissance platoon and military police platoon Visoko, proceeded in contravention of the rules of international humanitarian law by violating the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and Protocols I and II Additional to the Geneva Conventions.
