Indictment confirmed in Zoran Ilić et al.

On 11 January 2022 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment dated 22 December 2021, charging the accused Zoran Ilić and Radenko Ilić with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1)h), as read with Subparagraph i), all in conjunction with Article 29 and Article 180(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the Indictment, during a period from late May 1992 to late 1993, in the framework of a widespread and systematic attack by the army of the Serb Republic of BiH, subsequently Republika Srpska, targeting the non-Serb civilian population in the territory of Rogatica municipality, being members of the army of the Serb Republic of BiH, subsequently Republika Srpska, namely the Rogatica Brigade VP 7084 Rogatica, knowing of the attack and that their actions form a part of the attack, the accused Zoran Ilić and Radenko Ilić took part in the persecution of the Bosniak civilian population on ethnic and religious grounds, acting with discriminatory intent, in violation of the rules of international law through enforced disappearance of persons, Bosniak civilians from the settlement of Rudo.
