Indictment Confirmed in the Case of Slobodan Savić

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed, on 10 January 2024, an indictment in the case of Slobodan Savić (S1 1 K 047176 23 Kro), charging the accused Slobodan Savić that, by the acts described in the indictment, he committed the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 142 of the Criminal Code of the SFRY (CC SFRY), as read with Article 22 of the same Code and the criminal offense of War Crimes against Prisoners of War under Article 144 of the CC SFRY.

The accused has been charged that, during the war in  Bosnia and Herzegovina, and an armed conflict between the Army RBiH and the Croat Defense Counsel (HVO) on one side, and the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) on the other side, in the territory of the Banja Luka municipality, as a member of the VRS, as a guard in the VIZ Banja Luka also known as “Mali Logor”, between March 1994 and December 1995, he acted in contravention of international humanitarian law, violating the provisions of the Geneva Conventions, in as much as he, in the said capacity, committed beatings, mistreatment and other inhuman acts against the non-Serb civilians and prisoners of war-HVO members.
