A preliminary hearing judge of Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed, on 20 February 2006, an indictment against Gojko Janković.

The indictment charges the accused with nine counts: for the criminal offense of crimes against humanity pursuant to Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These offenses were allegedly committed in the area of Foča between April 1992 and February 1993.

The Court accepted the adapted indictment in relation to four counts from the indictment transferred from the Prosecutor's Office of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia against Gojko Janković, and confirmed it in relation to five additional counts raised by the Office of the Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Court has scheduled a plea hearing in this case for 6 March 2006. Further details will be provided in due course.
