Before a preliminary hearing judge of Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Gojko Janković yesterday pleaded not guilty as charged in the new indictment filed by the Prosecutor’s Office BiH.

This indictment charges Gojko Janković for the criminal offense of crimes against humanity pursuant to Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina and alleged that the accused, as the leader of a paramilitary group, ordered, committed, aided or incited the rape of a Bosniac woman in the area of Foča between April 1992 and February 1993.

A trial involving Gojko Janković is already in progress before the Court of BiH.  The indictment in that trial alleges that the accused committed the criminal offense of crimes against humanity in the area of the Foča municipality.  The proceeding initiated by the new indictment is joined with the initial indictment proceedings and will be carried out as single procedure.
