Commencement of the main trial in the case of Krešo Lučić, who is charged with Crimes against humanity, has been scheduled for 14 February 2007, starting at 9.30am in courtroom 5.

The indictment charges Krešo Lučić with, inter alia, detention and torture of civilians during attacks aimed at the Bosniak civilian population in the municipalities of Kreševo, Kiseljak, Busovača and Vitez, in the capacity of a Military Police commander of the Croatian Defence Council in Kreševo.

The indictment, inter alia, alleges that, in June and July 1993, at the headquarters of the Military police in Kreševo, the Accused tortured prisoners of Bosniak ethnicity brought from the camp “Šunje,” and ordered his subordinate military police officers to do the same.
