Commencement of the trial in the case of Zdravko Mihaljević has been scheduled for tomorrow, 15 May 2007, starting at 9.00am in courtroom 7. Zdravko Mihaljević is charged with Crimes against humanity.

The indictment alleges that in the period between April and June 1993, as a member of the II Croatian Defence Council (HVO) Battalion within the Ban Josip Jelačić Brigade from Kiseljak, and as commander of the HVO’s Special Task Unit Maturice, the Accused, inter alia, participated in, and aided, the persecution, killings and torture of Bosniak civilians in the Kiseljak municipality.
