Verdict to be handed down in the case of Goran Damjanović and Another

Pronouncement of the Trial Panel’s verdict in the case of Goran Damjanović and Another (X-KR/05/107) has been scheduled for Monday, 18 June 2007 in courtroom 4, starting at 11.00am.

The indictment filed by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH charges them with the criminal offence of War crimes against civilians under Article 173 (1) c), in conjunction with Article 180 (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The accused Goran Damjanović is also charged with the criminal offence of illegal manufacturing and trade of weapons or explosive materials under Article 399 (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Srpska.

According to the allegations in the indictment Goran and Zoran Damjanović, as members of the Army of the Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, took active part in the beatings of a group of twenty to thirty male Bosniak prisoners in area of Bojnik, Novi Grad municipality, Sarajevo, on 2 June 1992.

The trial in this case commenced on 21 September 2006.
