On 11 January 2024 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment in the case of Vildan Ključo (S1 2 K 024349 24 Ko), charging the accused Vildan Ključo with the criminal offense of Organizing a Terrorist Group under Article 202d(2), as read with Paragraph 1, of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all in conjunction with the criminal offense of Terrorism under Article 201 of the Code.

The accused Vildan Ključo is charged that, with the aim of going to the war theater in Syria and joining the terrorist organizations operating in Syria, on 28 August 2012 he took a regular Sarajevo-Istanbul flight and left for Turkiye. On arrival there, with the help from unidentified persons he crossed the border between Turkey and Syria and joined the “Ahmed Asaf” military unit, which was an integral part of the terrorist organization of ISIL – the so-called Islamic State organized in the territory of Syria and Iraq, listed as a terrorist organization by a UN Security Council Resolution, whose goal is to cause destabilization and violent change of the political and constitutional system in Syria. It is further said that the accused Vildan Ključo became a member of that terrorist organization, and together with other members took part in combat activities in Syria until 2023, which is when he crossed back into Turkiye and returned to BiH in 2023.
