At the plea hearing before the Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Accused Izet Smajić pleaded not guilty. Izet Smajić is charged with the criminal offence of War Crimes against Wounded and Sick.

The Indictment alleges that the Accused Smajić on 15 May 1992 in Tuzla, approached a wounded JNA soldier at the Brčanska Malta crossroads and shot the soldier, inflicting upon him serious bodily injuries.
