Status conference in the Veselin Vlahović case

A status conference before Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in the Veselin Vlahović case, has been scheduled for 22 April 2011, starting at 9.00 a.m. in Courtroom 4.

 

On 24 February 2011, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) confirmed the Indictment in the Veselin Vlahović case, charging the accused Vlahović with the criminal offence of Crimes against Humanity.

 

The Indictment alleges, inter alia, that the accused Vlahović, as a member of the paramilitary forces of the so called Serb Republic of BiH, later Republika Srpska, persecuted the civilian non-Serb population from Grbavica, Vraca and Kovačići settlements, Novo Sarajevo Municipality. As a part of the persecution on national, ethnic and religious grounds, the accused Vlahović allegedly committed the crimes of deprivation of life (murder), slavery, rape, unlawful detention, physical and mental abuse (inhumane treatment), robbery and enforced disappearance of civilian non-Serb population.
