Mirsad Šijak enters a not guilty plea

The Accused Mirsad Šijak entered a not guilty plea at a plea hearing before Section I for War Crimes of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case v. Muhidin Bašić et al. The Accused Muhidin Bašić entered a not guilty plea at the plea hearing on 6 January 2012.

 

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Indictment on 7 December 2011 under which the Accused Muhidin Bašić and Mirsad Šijak are charged with the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians.

 

The Indictment reads that on 25 January 1994 the Accused Muhidin Bašić, as the Chief of State Security Service Olovo Wartime Department, and the Accused Mirsad Šijak, as a Military Police Officer, a member of 122nd Light Brigade of the BiH Army, together with other two unknown members of the BiH Army, had a forced sexual intercourse with a woman who was visiting a prisoner in the prison in Vareš.
