Sven Alkalaj enter a not guilty plea

At the plea hearing before Section II for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the accused Sven Alkalaj pleaded not guilty of the criminal offence of Lack of Commitment in Office in violation of Article 224(2) as read with Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed on 4 March 2015 the Indictment under which the Accused Sven Alkalaj is charged with the criminal offence of Lack of Commitment in Office in violation of Article 224(2) as read with Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  

 

The Indictment alleges that the Accused Sven Alkalaj, as an official person in the institution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the capacity as Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BIH rendered the Decision awarding a remuneration to  Ana Trišić Babić, Deputy  Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BIH, for her work in the NATO Coordination team  of the BIH Council of Ministers thus knowingly violating the Decision of the Council of Ministers according to which heads and deputy heads of the institutions of BIH are not entitled to a remuneration, and causing the damage to the BIH budget in the amount of BAM 13, 418.59 KM.
