A Judgment to be Announced in the Case of Boban Inđić

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to announce tomorrow, on 19 January 2023, a first-instance judgment in the case of Inđić Boban (S1 1 K 041550 21 Kri). The announcement of the judgment is scheduled to take place at 13:00 hrs in courtroom 4.

The indictment, inter alia, alleges that, during an armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the period between June 1992 and December 1995, in the territory of the Rudo and Višegrad municipalities, between the Army of Republika Srpska and the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the accused Boban Inđić as the Commander of the Intervention Company of the 2nd Podrinje Light Infantry Brigade – Višegrad, along with other members of the Intervention Company, or members of the 1st Company of the 1st Battalion, the 2nd Podrinje Light Infantry Brigade Višegrad, or with approximately 25 soldiers, including Obrad Poluga, Novak Poluga, Dragan Šekarić, Oliver Krsmanović, Petko Inđić, Radojica Ristić, Vuk Ratković, Mićo Jovičić and Miodrag Mitrašinović, acted in contravention of the rules of international law violating Article 3(1) a) of the Geneva Convention of 12 August 1949, in as much as he, as a co-perpetrator, participated in the killings of 20 non-Serb civilians, who had been previously taken out from a train on the Belgrade – Bar route, in the place of Štrpci, Rudo municipality.

 

The proceeding against the accused Boban Inđić was severed under the Decision of the Court of BiH of 1 November 2021 issued in the case of Luka Dragičević et al. (S1 1 K 018711 15 Kri).
